PVVAC's Membership Information Page

PVVAC is always looking for new members (Youth Corp, Senior Corp, and Associate members)

Are you interested ?

If you are between 13-17 Years old, You can join PVVAC's Youth Corp. The youth corp. learns what to do in an emergency, CPR and First Aid are just a couple of skills that the youth Corp is taught. The youth corp. participates in many drills and community functions with the senior corp. At 16, youth corp. members can start to ride on actual calls, under the supervision of senior corp. members.

If you are 18 or older, You can join PVVAC's Senior Corp. No prior experience is required. You will learn CPR, First Aid and other life saving skills. You may advance your training by taking New York State EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or CFR (Certified Responder Course) Classes. These classes are not mandatory. A normal crew on a call consists of 3 people: Driver, EMT, and Attendant. If a youth corp. member is on duty, they would be the 4th member on the crew.

For those people who do not want to get involved with actual patient care, We have a group of Associate Members. These individuals assist the corp. with administrative tasks (Correspondence, Fund Drive, as well as assistance to our line officers).

Meetings are held 7:30pm at the Putnam Valley Ambulance Building 218 Oscawanna Lake Road, Putnam Valley:
The last Wednesday of the month (Jan - Oct).
The 2nd Wednesday of the month (Nov - Dec) - to avoid conflicts with the holiday season.

Note: Applications must be submitted in person at a General Membership Meeting. No application will be accepted 3rd party, Fax, or by mail.
